I would like to thank both Berkley Publishing Group and NetGalley for allowing me to read and review this book. Sorry it took me so long. All opinions are my own.

Book Review:

This is the fourteenth book in the series called A Library Lover's Mystery. I have read the first book where the characters are introduced but haven't continued with the series. I want to and this book has gotten me interested again.

In this book Lindsey and her husband Sully go to a library conference in New York. While there Lindsey finds a first edition signed book under her chair. She turns it into the conference director not wanting to cause any issues with the rest of the conference.

Hours later on the train home they meet up with several people who were at the conference including the director and his assistant. The director isn't a likable person and seems to be causing some problems with a couple of other passengers who were also at the conference. He decides to go back to his private compartment. During the night Lindsey hears some thumping noises coming from the compartment next door and decides to go check it out. She isn't able to see anything but just a person in a dark coat outside in the hall.

The next morning everyone is in the dining compartment except the director, and they are a little worried that he hasn't shown up because this is the perfect time for him to show himself. Lindsey decides to ask the compartment steward to check on him and what he finds isn't good. The director is dead and to make things worse the weather has turned into snow. The steward reports to the conductor, and they inform the police and they are told to pull into the next station so an investigation can be done.

The next station happens to be Lindsey's town so after the initial interview she and Sully are allowed to go home but the rest of the passengers are sent to the inn. Only the passengers that were at the conference are sent to the inn all the other passengers are able to continue on their journey.

Several things happen. One the weather has now turned into a blizzard and Sully is going to the islands to drop off supplies for the islanders since they won't be able to get the main shore during the storm. While Sully is doing this, he gets kidnapped. Now the police not only have to find out what happened to the director they now have to search for Sully. Why was Sully kidnapped and what happened to the director? Are they related? Was the director killed or did he just fall off the narrow bed in the train compartment? You will have to read the book to find out.

This is what I liked about the book. The relationship between Sully and Lindsey. The friendship in their hometown. I like how everyone in the town supports the leaders and the people who live in the town.

Even though I thought this book was a little close to the theme of the Murder on the Orient Express it was still good and recommend that you read it. I would suggest that you read this series in order so that you can get to know the characters better.
