week two of February

I know I am late with this post. This is what I read the second week of February. The total pages were 2498. Not a bad week at all. The top three books were to the series of Aryan's books. There are a lot of books to this series. I am still reading the series and just found out another book will be coming out in Spring. The next book is about the American Revolution. I love history especially this time frame. The next book is a children's fantasy and I liked it. I read this book to David. There were some funny parts but not many a little dark in places. The last book is a graphic novel and I didn't like it all. I have to be honest I am not into these types of books. I keep trying and they just don't work for me. The wing of fire books I gave 3 stars to each one. Skellig I gave a 4 star to. Saga I gave a 2 star. The History book got a 4 star rating.
Tomorrow I will post the last days of February reads.
Until then keep reading.

What I read the first week of February

I know it has been awhile since my last post. As you can see I have been busy. Not only with reading but with life. This picture shows you what I read from February 1st to February 10th. I read 12 books which totaled 3032 pages.
I know you can't see some of the titles so I will list them below with a star rating.
Stuart Little  by E.B. White finished 2-3-18 2 stars I read this book to David. It is nothing like the movie which I enjoyed more.
All By Myself, Alone By Mary Higgins Clark finished 2-3-18 5 stars This was from January's TBR I loved this book and hope to have a review up soon.
New Moon graphic Novel By Stephenie Meyer finished 2-4-18 4 stars. I really don't like graphic novels but I am trying to. I wanted to do a little rereading so decided to try this. This isn't one of her better books. Yes I did enjoy the series and I know I am one of the few.
Through The Woods graphic novel By Emily Carroll finished 2-4-18 2 stars. I did not like this book. There were several stories in this book and to me I felt like the stories left you hanging.
Shadow of the Giant By Orson Scott Card finished 2-7-18 3 stars. This is the second to last book in this series about Bean from the Ender Games. I have to say that I am not enjoying this series but only have more book to go. This book talks about Bean and his wife and their babies that they are trying to locate and the disease that he has. really don't want to go into too much detail because it will spoil the books. Hopefully this little bit doesn't spoil it for anyone.
The Oregon Trail By Rinker Buck finished 2-7-18 3 stars. This book was not what I expected. I thought it would be about the trail and in a way it was. This book was mostly about him and his brother reenacting the trail. He did give you some history about the travelers and the trail. That is why it got a 3 star rating otherwise it would have been lower.
The Brightest Night By Tui T. Sutherland finished 2-8-18 3 stars This is the 5th book to the Wings of Fire Series that Aryan owns. It is a nice middle grade book.
List to Live By finished 2-8-18 4 stars. This is the 2nd book. It contains several different list that are just fun to read.
I finished an old conference report from 1902 from the Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
It was interesting to read such an old report and how the leaders thought and wanted to get across to the members at that time.
Beauty By Robin McKinley finished 2-10-18 4 stars. This is a retelling of Beauty and the Beast. It is nothing like the Disney version. I actually like this one.
A Little Bit Country By Debbie Macomber finished 2-10-18  4 stars. This is shown above. I listened to this book. I really enjoyed this book.
Persepolin By Marjane Satrapi finished 2-10-18 3 stars. This is another graphic novel. It is actually based on her life in Iran. It wasn't bad but I would have rather read it in normal print.
These are all the books I read for the first ten days of February. As you can tell I finished some on the same day. I read more than one book at a time as long as they are not in the same genre. So until next time keep reading.

February TBR

Can you believe it is already a new month. Sorry this photo isn't very good. I used my phone instead of the camera. This isn't a big stack of books but I didn't want to overwhelm myself this month. I will add books to this pile if I get this read, which I have already two and almost finished a third. So here we go and we will start from the bottom of the stack.
On the bottom is a graphic novel called Through the Woods by Emily Carroll. I heard about this in October and finally decided to pick it up. I have read this book already, more on that in a later post.
The Oregon Trail by Rinker Buck. I am currently listening to this book and haven't decided if I like it yet, not what I thought. I picked up this book because I use to live in Oregon.
The Cruel Prince by Holly Black. It seems like everyone is reading this book so I decided to give it try.
This next book is from my #24in48 pile and that is List to Live by book 2. I am almost done with book also. Various contributors.
Another graphic novel and this is from a book I have read a few years ago and that is New Moon by Stephenie Meyer. I have also finished this book and still feel the same about it. This is my least favorite book in the series.
On The Fence by Kasie West is next. It is a comtemporary book. I thought I might need a break from the rest of the books I am reading.
The Martian by Andy Weir. I know I should have read this a long time ago. It has been on many of the TBR's and I have yet to read it. I will get it read this month.
The Skellig By David Almond. I am currently reading this book to David. So Far so good. Haven't gotten to far into it yet.
Beauty by Robin McKinley. This is a retelling of Beauty and the Beast. Just started it today.
Hillbilly Elegy: A Memoir of a Family and Culture in CrisisThis is the book from the library book club for this month.
American Queen (Volume 1)Here is the book I plan on reading from my kindle. This is for another book club I belong to.
Okay that is a total of 11 books to read for this short month. I am fairly sure I can get these read since last month I read 23 books.
Until next time keep reading.

Late January Barnes and Noble Haul

I went to Barnes and Noble again in late January. I had ordered a book and wanted to see if it had come in. It wasn't but is at the warehouse getting ready to ship. I also received another 20% off coupon so went shopping. I bought the Cruel Prince by Holly Blake. There is a lot of talk going on about this book. I have read some of her work and really enjoyed it. The series of her I read before is called the Spiderwick. The next two books are middle grade books. Nevermore is a new series and sound like something David might enjoy. The other book is called Booked and this author wrote Crossover which was Newbery Winner. His writing is different which makes it fun to read and fast. The last book is a rebuy for me. It is the first book in the Love Comes Softly series. My oldest daughter, Tara has this book and I want to start reading this series but one needs the first book, so I bought it again. Well, until next time keep reading.

I finished it Jan 26th and gave it 3 stars. The third book to the Wings of Fire series. Finished it Jan.26th and gave it 3 stars. The Sword in the Stone By T.H. White was disappointing book for me. You probably recognize this stack it is my TBR pile. Only two books from this pile haven't been read yet. Well, I am reading one right now and half way through it. The little book on top is We Should All Be Feminists By Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie was a great quick read. Finished Jan3rd and gave it 5 stars. I am currently reading All By Myself, Alone By Mary Higgins Clark. Enjoying it so far but no surprise there. Renegades By Marissa Meyer. I am starting to enjoy her books. I gave this book 4 stars and finished it Jan. 23rd.
Now for the books I don't have pictures of; The Picture of Dorian Gray By Oscar Wilde finished Jan1 and gave 1 star. I hated this book, and was to stubborn to DNF it. I actually will never DNF a book it will just take me forever to finish. Black Lies By Alessandra Torre finished Jan 7th and gave it 5 stars and wrote a review. The Unbearable lightness of Being By Milan Kundera finished Jan 10th and gave it 2 stars. This was a book David had to read for school so I read a page and he read a page. We finished it Jan. 28th and we gave it 4 stars.
This is a long list and have decided to go back and do weekly up dates. I want to do more reviews on the books that I read. I will probably not do reviews on  books I give 3 stars or below. Until next time keep reading.
