Land Of The Cranes Review

Land Of The Cranes

Middle Grade

I am part the Amazon Vine Program and I chose this book to read and review. I chose it because of the cover. I didn't know what this book was about but just love the cover. This is a middle grade book that is told in verse. It is a quick read which is normal of book told in verse.

This book is about a young girl who has moved to East LA from Mexico because of the cartel. She lost an Uncle through them and her father took them away from Mexico to protect them. They are illegal immigrants and eventually her father is round up from a raid at his job and is sent back to Mexico.

She founds out what happens after a few days. Her mom and her are trying to protect themselves by listening to lawyers and taking the steps they need to do just in case one of them is picked up.

One day on their way to visit her father they accidently go to far and end up going across the border and their paperwork isn't good enough they are kept in at the boarder and not allowed to go back to the US.

The book goes on to tell you how they are treated and the conditions of the place. It isn't good but they learn to deal with it the best way they can.

I did enjoy the book and would recommend that you and your children should read this book to learn more.
