This is a middle grade book that I read to David at night before bed.
This is a book that he picked out because he loves to listen to mysteries and animals.
Linda wrote this book very well. It kept David's attention and he was asking questions.
It tells about a boy who is a gifted apothecary. He goes against his father and finds himself in some unique situations that he has to get himself out of. It also talks about friendships.   
I would recommend this book for your child.
